For my entrepreneurial idea I chose to do something involving fashion. I love to shop and love anything having to do with fashion, so it only made sense. For my idea, I am creating a fashion/shopping blog. My blog will be interactive. My users will be able to enter in any kind of article of clothing, accessory, beauty product, etc and my blog will help them locate where the item can be purchased closest to your location. My blog will also feature brands, styles, colors of the item, and identify the lowest prices. I will offer exclusive promotions to my users. There are some blogs out there similar to this idea but my blog will also feature new styles of the season and celebrity trends.
My idea relates back to the content that was covered in the past week's lecture. For example, I can feature my blog application on Twitter. This ties into social media because by making a Twitter account for my blog, it can get my blogs name out there to more people. I can update my followers on Twitter with weekly deals and promotions from clothing stores or beauty supply stores, which will lead them to my blog.
Another feature of my blog is that it can also be viewed on an Iphone as an application. By purchasing the blog application, it will connect to twitter, GoogleMaps, etc. I think making an application is a great way to generate extra income as well.
Is this site going to be more of a blog or more of a fashion search engine with a content production (blog) aspect to it? I think that you described more of a fashion search engine which would be pretty beneficial. In the search results there is a lot you could do to help users find other articles of clothing to wear with it.
